Obituary

Racine – Barbara A. Sandbach, 76, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Sunday, June 13, 2010.Barbara was born in Racine on February 12, 1934 to Robert and Leona (nee, Staaden) Schultz. She married Paul Sandbach on July 3, 1959, recently celebrating their 50th Wedding anniversary. Barbara was employed by the Racine Unified School District for over 23 years, retiring in June 2002. Barbara was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was an active volunteer with the Racine Lutheran High School Thrift Shop. Barbara loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at the Double K D Ranch in Baraboo. Barbara is survived by her husband, Paul Sandbach; children, Debra (Vic) Oesau, Clive (Kathleen) Jander, Jeanine (Kevin) McBride all of Racine, Susan (Gary) Mattie of Mankato, MN, Paula Ellis of Paddock Lake, WI and Paul Sandbach, Jr. of Racine; grandchildren, Genevieve (Lamont) Langford, Jacob (Lori) Oesau, Paul Jander, Casey McBride, Stephanie (Matt) Wright, Eric (Ali) Mattie, Kevin Ellis, Jr and Ashleigh Sandbach; great-grandchildren, Ciayra, Renee, Jacob Jr., Lilly, Kirsten, Devin, Brennan, Matthew, Mario, Aiden and Madeline; and her sisters, Marlene (Paul) Petersen of Racine and Gloria (Scott) Cisco of Canada. Barbara is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Kevin Ellis, Sr.; and great-grandson, Lamont Mykle.Memorial services for Barbara will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, June 18, 2010 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Daniel B. Quinn officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or Racine Lutheran High School.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mark DeCheck and the I.C.U. and Second Floor nurses and staff for all of their care and compassion.
