Obituary

Racine – Arnold C. Junker, 94, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 1, 2011. Arnie was born in Newton, WI on May 6, 1917 to Edward and Clara (nee, Rodewald) Junker. He married the former Elaine Sybeldon on May 3, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX where Arnie was serving in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. Arnie was employed by Racine Steel Castings as a Layout Inspector for over 41 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church for over 83 years. Arnie and Elaine have been "Winter Texans" for the past thirty years at Paradise Park in Harlingen, TX. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Arnie is survived by his wife, Elaine Junker; children, Linda Junker, Diane Hay, Marcia (Rob) Plate and Mark Junker; grandchildren, A.J. (Maite) Patrenets, Jonathan Hay and Stephanie Junker; great-grandson, Andrew Patrenets; and special nephews, Bob, Larry (Diane) and Don Junker. Arnie is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ruben and Nell Junker. A funeral service for Arnie will be held at Evangelical United Methodist Church, corner of Eleventh and Main Streets, on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Evangelical United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rev. John Fleming, Arnie's CNA, Julie and the staff of Hospice Alliance for all for their care and compassion.
