RACINE – Anthony W. Zagar, 56, passed away at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Tony was born in Racine on March 13, 1959 to Theodore A. and Barbara J. (nee, Simon) Zagar. On December 11, 1982 he married the love of his life, the former Annamarie Bruno. Tony was employed in the bread industry for over 30 years. He graduated from SMTI as Pastor, serving his church home, Word of Faith Family Church. He was teacher for the children's church at Word of Faith. Tony loved sports and was an avid Packer and White Sox fan. He was a caring and giving person and was the best husband, father and papa. Survivors include his wife, Ann Zagar; children, Theodore Zagar, Kerstin (Eric Morehead) Zagar and Austin Zagar; grandchildren, Sophia, Eric, Jr. and Levi; his sister, Kim Zagar; brother, Matthew (Sharon) Zagar; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Bruno. Tony is also survived by his special niece, Sarah Zagar; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, James Bruno. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Word of Faith Family Church Building Fund. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff in the emergency Room at St. Luke's Medical Center, especially Dr. Loya and his nurse, Grace for all of their care and compassion.
