Annabelle 'Belle' OlsonRacine- Annabelle 'Belle' Olson, 81, passed away at Grand Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, February 12, 2007 surrounded by her family.Belle was born in Mora, Minnesota on December 24, 1925 to Leonard and Anna Mattson. She attended school in Mora and on May 31, 1947 married her schooldays sweetheart, Orville Olson. They lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota until her family moved to Racine in 1965. Orville and Belle enjoyed 53 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2000. She was employed by Kortendick Ace Hardware in the housewares department for 25 years, retiring in 1994. Belle was a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and had been very active in the Racine Job Network program sponsored by St. Andrew. She was an avid collector of 'Lady Bells'. Belle was a great baker, who enjoyed baking for her friends and family.Belle is survived by her two daughters, Debra (James) Olson Linday of Arlington Heights, IL and Janice Olson of San Francisco, CA; sister, Marie Olson of Lombard, IL; four sisters in law, Jean and Florence Mattson of Mora, Mildred (Dallas) Berg of Northfield and Melva Olson of Minneapolis, MN and a brother in law Sydney Olson of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ellen, two brothers, Elmer and Edwin and an infant sister.According to Belle's wishes cremation has taken place and memorial service for Belle will be held at St. Andrew Church, 1015 Four Mile Rd on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Carol Baumgartner officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials in her memory have been suggested to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or Orphaned Kanines.
