Anna Veronica BethkeRacine- Anna V. Bethke, nee, Brish, 93, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, August 31, 2007.Anna was born in Abbotsford on June 10, 1914 to Anton and Veronica (nee: Misudek) Brish, Sr. and lived her young life in Knowlton, WI. She was a Racine resident for most of her life. She married LeRoy O. Bethke at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church on November 18, 1933. They were married more than 65 years when he passed away on August 23, 1999. Anna had been a former charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and currently a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed babysitting, traveling and gardening. Anna and her husband LeRoy were foster parents to Gail and Beverly Juoni.Anna is survived by her loving family; daughter, Judy (Mike) Mucklin of Racine; five grandchildren, Tom (Judith) Kordus, Jr., Debbie (Brian) Coyne, Chris (Michelle) Kordus, Susan (Doug) Alton and Bob Bethke; six great grandchildren and a step great grandson, Cody and Ashley Kordus, Holly and Ashley Stritchko, Garrett and Carter Alton and Spencer Coyne; two sisters, Irene Kloss and Sophie Vanselow; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Robran. Anna is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her son Dick; parents; three brothers, Rudolph, Joe and Anton Brish, Jr.; four sisters, Betty Tarman, Carolyn Bethke, Julia Burdy and Elizabeth Sowinski. She was also preceded in death by two brothers who died in infancy and a half sister, Margaret.Funeral services for Anna will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 11:00 am. with Rev. Sara VanDeBerg officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to Ridgewood Care Center or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.Relatives and friends are also invited to a luncheon gathering following the service at the Wind Meadows Leisure Center. Her life will be celebrated and her memory will be cherished by all who loved her.
