Obituary

Racine- Ann Kuiper (nee: Wynstra), 93, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan Cardiac Hospital and entered her Heavenly home on Friday, November 25, 2011. Ann was born March 21, 1918 to the late Alex and Henrietta (nee: Hoogenboom) Wynstra. Ann was united in marriage to Frank William Kuiper on May 12, 1940. Her beloved husband passed away 17 years ago in October 28, 1994. Ann received her education at Racine Christian School and Racine Vocational School. She was employed at S.C. Johnson Wax prior to her marriage. Ann was a loving and devoted stay-at-home mother. Her greatest joy has always been her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her church and church family. She was a faithful member of Racine Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed participating in the Coffee Break Bible Study, and in earlier years, was a member of the church ladies bowling team. Ann enjoyed living at the Imperial Senior Apartments for the last 15 years. She participated in the community meals, the kitchen band, shuffleboard and bocci ball team. She cherished the friendships she developed there, especially her best friend, Anna Schauer. And… she was also an avid Packer fan! Ann is survived by her two loving daughters, Joyce (Jim) Smith and Shirley (Dan) Petersen.; 5 grandchildren: Jeff (Kathy) Smith of MI, Tom Smith of FL, Amy (George) Karegeannes of Franksville, Scott (Shawn) Petersen of Oak Creek and Kari (Robin) Luymes of MI; 17 great grandchildren: Josh (Savannah) Smith, Katie Smith, Nathan Smith, Jack Smith, Samantha Smith, Nicky Smith, Olivia Karegeannes, Sophia Karegeannes, Ella Karegeannes, Amanda Luymes, Conner Luymes, Dillon Luymes, Jack Luymes, Scottie Petersen, Clayton Petersen, Nathan Petersen and Brady Eckert; sisters: Tina Heisa of TX, Henriette (John) Bylsma of Brookfield, Grace Walma of MI; brother: Bernie (Marilyn) Wynstra of FL and Henry (Susie) Wynstra of IN; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Wynstra, Shirley Wynstra, Adri Boersma and Elda Kuiper all of Racine. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services to celebrate Ann's life will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Racine Christian Reformed Church, 900 Illinois Street (corner of Kinzie and Illinois) at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Aldrink officiating. Visitation will be held at the church at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Ann will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park in a private ceremony with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Racine Christian Reformed Church, 900 Illinois Street, Racine, WI 53405. Ann's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks for the extraordinary and most loving care she and her family received from the 5th floor nurses and CNA's at Wheaton Franciscan Cardiac Hospital.
