Racine – On Wednesday, October 14, 2009 a kind and gentle lady died at Ridgewood Care Center. Alvina (nee, Schulz) Androff was 99 years old, born on May 18, 1910. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Survived by her loving daughter, Gen Joyce; daughter-in-law, Mary Androff; brother, Emil Schulz; and dear friend, Ruth LaDuke. Alvina is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Androff; son Bud Androff; son-in-law, Bill Joyce; brothers, John Schulz and David Schulz; and sisters, Sylvia McLellan, Marie Jacoby and Esther Wuerzberger. Funeral services for Alvina will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Mary Janz officiating. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice. Words cannot express the gratitude for Alvina's care at Ridgewood, 2 East.
