Allen D. Nelson"Bud"Racine- Allen D. "Bud" Nelson, 82, passed away at the The Villages Hospice House on Tuesday, April 26, 2011.Bud was born in Racine on April 1, 1929 to Edward and Clara Mary (nee: Laux) Nelson. He graduated from Park High School and also Miami of Ohio University in 1952. Bud married Helen Buchaklian at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church on September 2, 1973. Bud worked for the city of Racine for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church serving on the board of trustees and as a church auditor. Bud's first love was fishing until he took up golf. His Wednesday Ives group was what he looked forward too each year and also golfing all winter long at his home in Florida. His love for gardening was evident in his yard. It was his pride and Joy.Bud is survived by his wife Helen Nelson; sisters, Clarie (Chris) Christofferson and Sharon (Lou) Peccarelli; nieces and nephews; Sherie, Patty, Jim, Karen, Kathy, Linda, PJ, Danny, Tammy, Theresa, Amy, Michael, Dale, Mark, Brian and their families; brothers in law, Phillip Litrenta, Leon Wickersham and Herman (Barb) Buchaklian; sister in law, Lucy Buchaklian; Armenian Godparents, John and Maree Buchaklian and Buchaklian cousins, Anna, Mary, Rose and Sarkis (Sonia) and their families and also his many cousins in the Nelson families. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lois Wickersham and Delores Litrenta and father and mother in law, Hovsep and Julia Buchaklian.Funeral service for Bud will be held at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Garabedian officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church have been suggested.
