Obituary

Racine- Allan "Al" E. Naegeli, 92, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Ascension All Saints Hospital after a brief illness. Al was born in Racine on May 8, 1932 to Edwin J. and Jeannette B. (nee: Kamm) Naegeli. Al graduated Lutheran High School in 1950. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1953. On June 18, 1960 he married Joan V. Herman.

Al was warm, upbeat, and always ready to share a smile. He was a lively and engaged grandfather, loving father, and devoted husband. Al's values were at the core of everything he did; his faith and common sense guided him in his life choices. Al was a visionary who sought out potential in people and identified opportunities for growth. In 1972, Al founded Electronic Systems of Wisconsin, which continues to provide innovative approaches to motor testing equipment under the leadership of his daughter, Linda, and his nephew, Tim Naegeli. Throughout his life, Al was passionate about problem solving and technology. Until his last weeks, Al continued to perfect the custom solar power system he developed and installed in the family home. Al traveled extensively throughout Europe (especially his beloved Switzerland), the Middle East, and Asia, broadening his perspective through the people he met along the way. Al had an uncanny ability to draw people out no matter their background or native tongue. He will be affectionately remembered for the humility, joy, and generosity he shared with those lucky enough to have crossed his path.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 years, Joan Naegeli; his children Curtiss (Estela) Naegeli, Linda (Ray Koukari, Jr.) Naegeli, and Susan (Denis) Dugré; his grandchildren Sarah (Jake) Pederson, Amy Naegeli, Michelle (Brandon) Bruggeman, Ray (Alexis) Koukari, III, Kassia Koukari, Matthew Campbell, Jonathan Campbell, Louis Dugré, Alix Dugré, and Thomas Dugré; and his great-grandchildren Ronan Pederson, Audrey Koukari and Evan Koukari.
