RACINE – Alan C. Schneider, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2016.Alan was born in Racine on December 24, 1923 to Alvin and Ruth Schneider. Following college and seminary he went to Ethiopia as a missionary in 1953, where he met and married Geneva Williams in 1954. They served for 30 years with S.I.M. in Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, and Nigeria. Their three children were all born and grew up in Ethiopia: Sue (Tim) Bolter of Racine; Dan (Joan) Schneider, working in Ethiopia; Janet (David) Gibbon of South Carolina. Alan has eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter; one sister, Margaret (Henry) Wynstra of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Jane Schneider.A memorial service will be held at Racine Bible church, 12505 Spring Street, on Saturday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
