Franksville – Alan J. Reed, 68, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Thursday, September 18, 2014. Al was born in Racine on December 8, 1945 to Joseph and Helen (nee, Tomachek) Reed. He married the former Janet Jones, celebrating thirty years of marriage. Al retired from Wisconsin Industrial Lift Trucks and most recently has been employed by NAPA. He enjoyed fishing, painting cars and was an avid Packers and Cubs fan. Al loved his dogs, but most of all he loved having a good time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Janet Reed; sons, Randy (Sue) Reed and Ryan Reed; grandchildren, Brandon and Kevin Reed; great-grandson, Jayden; his mother, Helen Reed; brother, Rick (Marla) Reed; sister, Janis (Don) Reed; nephew, Nick Hansen; and his niece, Stacey Bodnar. Al is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother-in-law, Danny Jones. A memorial service for Al will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of the services at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
