Ada Louise (Larrabee) Green, born April 5, 1925, in Georgetown, Illinois, entered the presence of her Lord on September 24, 2026 at the age of 101. She was the daughter of Harold and Nettie (Braselton) Larrabee.
Ada spent her early childhood in Georgetown, Illinois before moving with her family to Dunn County, Wisconsin. Her family attended Forest Center Church of the Nazarene, where Ada’s lifelong faith began to take root. She graduated from Menomonie Aggie High School in 1943 and later attended Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
After college, Ada moved to Chicago and worked at the Pepsodent Toothpaste Company. She later moved to Racine where she began a 14 year career at the Singer Sewing store teaching sewing classes. An accomplished seamstress, Ada lovingly made countless dresses, wedding gowns and doll clothes. Ada also enjoyed knitting, gardening and doing crossword puzzles. She made the best canned peaches!
Ada was a devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene throughout her life, attending Central Church of the Nazarene, Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene, and later becoming a charter member of Community Church of the Nazarene, all located in Racine. She served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher and nursery worker for many years.
Ada met her husband, Jim, at Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene. Jim and Ada married on October 29, 1960, and shared 49 years together. They began a life together in Kenosha, where Jim raised and trained hunting beagles. They later moved to Mt. Pleasant in 2006 where Ada remained until her passing.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Roland “Jim” Green, who passed away on July 31, 2010. She was also preceded by her siblings Vern (Marlene) Larrabee, Lois (Orville) Johnson, Lloyd Larrabee, Raymond (Estie) Larrabee, Lela (Rev. Carlton) Zehrt and Charlotte (Robert) Meltesen. She is survived by her youngest sister, Eileen (Milton) Schulz and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Having devoted her life to God and her faith, Ada peacefully entered her eternal home in Heaven.
